AQC in Melbourne
Thanks to everyone I met in Melbourne last week at the Australasian Quilt Convention.
I had a fabulous time teaching, meeeting fellow quilters and making new contacts.
I was thrilled to have my four Jane Austen quilts displayed together in the Quilt Show associated with AQC. I had just finished "Rosings" and Veronica Appleyard has worked her quilting magic again - I think we make an awesome team!

Here is a close up of the centre of "Rosings" - lots of girls are saying this is their favourite of the four!?
I received some wonderful feedback about these quilts so all the hard work seems to be paying off.

Here are the girls in class busily working. Unfortunately it was a crash course to teach in 2 days quilts that took me over twelve months to make but we had fun and the girls said they learnt a lot.
The venue is absolutely beautiful at the Exhibition Centre in Melbourne. Built in the 1880s, it is a World Heritage Listed Site. It has recently been restored to its former glory, including the hand painted frescoes in Federation colours. Wow, it was a knockout.
The vendors were all patchwork shops so it was a quilters' shoppers paradise.
Here is a photo of my gorgeous friend Deborah Louie and I at the AQC formal dinner. Deborah was also teaching at AQC and had a very busy time. The photo was taken just before the Michael Jackson impersonator came on!
If you get the chance to go next year, AQC is well worth a visit. Hope I get asked back again one day.
