What a Difference a Background Makes
Here is Leanne's first block for her "Spikes and Specks" quilt, made in class at Pioneer Patchwork. We were trying out different backgrounds and centres for her two paper pieced rings:
Which one do you like?
I like the first and second backgrounds. The third and fourth are too matchy matchy. The first background gives good contrast and sparkle. The second background makes the circle step forward as it calmly recedes.
