Lots of Activity with The Richmond Stitchers

My gorgeous Richmond girls were very productive today working on lots of different projects.  We were on a retreat at Winbourne in Mulgoa for the weekend.  The girls arrived Saturday morning but I could only arrive Sunday morning to teach the class.  It was a beautiful day in a lovely historic location.

The grounds are really well maintained...

There is a huge old bunya tree near our classroom, but it comes with a warning...

A number of girls were working on their Marrakesh whack and stack fan blocks.

These blocks belong to Karol. She used a large pink, purple and aqua floral.  We were laying out the blocks on the floor to get a better idea of how they will look.

Here is the centre put together.  Wow.

These blocks are by Kim in a dramatic floral on a black background.

These amazing blocks were made by Mary from a very colourful fabric with feathers all over it.  The blocks are fabulous.

Jan is making a Christmas version of my new "Burlap and Lace" table runner design.  She is using some beautiful holly fabric.

Christine did lots of string and strip piecing for a set of the Yuletide placemats.

Judy achieved lots of progress on her new bag from one of my designs.  In stead of reproduction fabrics she has fussy cut some crazy chickens in the dresden plates.  So much fun!

Thanks for a great day ladies.

  1. One very productive weekend. Peaceful location as well. Hoping I will be able to take a Jane Austin case one day. Threadbear seems the closes with a two and a half hour drive each way.
